«SPIRIBOL DAY» a charity event from Foundation Spiribol in partnership with Foundation Abel Matutes

Foundation Spiribol in partnership with Foundation Abel Matutes will celebrate for the first time in Ibiza «SPIRIBOL DAY»; a charity event whose main objective is to disseminate this sport, its values and the fundraising for projects with children at risk of social exclusion.

Fernando Hierro, Carmen Matutes or Carles Sans from Tricicle will be some familiar faces who will accept that day the solidarity challenge of SPIRIMAN, the superhero who teaches this sport and also helps spread the work of the Foundation.

The Spiribol is a new racket sport, healthy, safe, fun and easy, increasing self-esteem and is adaptive and inclusive.
The FOUNDATION SPIRIBOL wants to spread the practice and values of this sport through the creation of centres targeting children at risk of social exclusion where besides practicing Spiribol other activities are taught and also encourages physical, intellectual and emotional development and making them becoming integrated people in society.

Ibiza , on Tuesday, August 25 _ On Thursday, September 3 Fiestaland Club Sport Centre will host the «SPIRIBOL DAY» the first charity event of the Foundation Spiribol in collaboration with the Foundation Abel Matutes on the island of Ibiza, whose main objective will be the spreading of this new racket sport and its integrators and healthy values and also the fundraising for the works that the Foundation realizes with children at risk of social exclusion.

¿ WHAT IS SPIRIBOL?

The Spiribol is a racquet sport born in Granada and designed by the doctor Jesus Candel where it is only necessary to play shovels, a mast and a tennis ball subjected on to a string that it has to be scrolled around the mast to win.

The Spiribol is a HEALTHY sport not only by the high energy consumption but also because the reflections are stimulated, motor skills and endurance and anaerobic.

The Spiribol is a PRACTICAL sport, easy to transport and assemble and only needs a circular area of 7m. in diameter and can be played on grass, asphalt, sand beach,…

The Spiribol is a SIMPLE sport, adaptive and inclusive; it does not require large media or costly installation, nor special qualities for the sport. Anyone can play, exercise and have some fun.

CHALLENGE SPIRIMAN

SPIRIMAN, the superhero (created by the Foundation Spiribol) that teaches this sport and also helps spread the work of the Foundation will be responsible for challenging a number of guests of honour among which have already confirmed the football coach Fernando Hierro as special guest ; Carmen Matutes President of the Executive Committee of the Abel Matutes Foundation and the actor Carles Sans humorist from the theatre trio El Tricicle as Patron of the Foundation Spiribol.

Andrés Iniesta, Antonio Carmona ( Ketama) , the dancer Sara Baras, former football player FCB Carles Pujol or Antena3 presenter, Lourdes Maldonado, are some of the public figures from the world of culture, sport and communication that have supported the Foundation Spiribol in the past.

TWO FOUNDATIONS UNITED FOR A SOLIDARITY CAUSE

The SPIRIBOL FOUNDATION wants to spread the practice and values of this sport by creating centres directed to children at risk of social exclusion where besides practicing Spiribol other activities are taught that are also promoting physical, intellectual and emotional development and making them to become integrated into society people.

The Foundation began working directly with children with serious social difficulties from Tagarete neighbourhood of Almeria, Mina neighbourhood of Barcelona and Almanjayar neighbourhood of Granada. There has already been built a recreational sports area where young and children with social difficulties of various associations of Granada practice different sports and games and of course, they receive master classes of Spiribol.

Since 2012, have collaborated with schools, associations and NGOs working with children with social difficulties, both with contributions of sports equipment as the availability of qualified teachers in teaching this new sport.

ABEL MATUTES FOUNDATION purpose is to promote the culture, sport or scientific and sociological research, as well as the promotion and defence of Environment, Art, Culture and History Heritage of Ibiza and Formentera. In these areas assists (both economically and any other type of collaboration) to work with people and institutions in any branch or sector that is beneficial or useful to the islands of Ibiza and Formentera and its people since 30 years.
